In the only room of the Alimentarium that has preserved its historical appearance, previously serving as the headquarters for General Management of the Nestlé & Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company from 1921 to 1936, you will be transported back in time to experience the remarkable journey initiated by Henri Nestlé in 1867.
Through around a hundred objects and interactive elements, you will be immersed in an era of dynamic entrepreneurship at the dawn of what has evolved into the modern food industry. Unfold the narrative of a modest enterprise in Vevey, established by a German-born pharmacist's assistant, which has now risen to prominence as a key player in the contemporary industry. This voyage is punctuated by the evolution of pioneering products, as well as encounters with setbacks, partnerships, and acquisitions.
