What causes eructation?
Eructation occurs when we drink fizzy drinks or when we eat or drink too quickly. Gastroesophageal reflux and aerophagia can also cause burping. Aerophagia is the term for taking in air as we swallow.
Did you know that the Englishman Paul Hunn holds the world record for the loudest burp? One of his burps measured 109.9 decibels, almost as loud as a chainsaw!
